Australis Cosmetics ♡ Velourlips Matte Lip Cream

Hi everyone, today I have a review for you all on the Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream.

Australis have fifteen shades of their Velourlips available on their website, with five of them being brand new shades. I purchased mine from Priceline for $9.95 which is the same retail price on the Australis website. If you are interested in the other shades they carry here is Australis website. www.australiscosmetics.com.au/

I only have four of their shades in my collection which are RIO-D, TOK-IO, MA-LI-BOO and NY-CEE.

Shades listed above in order.

Australis claims of this product: highly pigmented, matte finish, creamy long-wear formula, glides on easily, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense full coverage payoff, moves with your lips, no caking or flaking.

I agree with most of that, they are very pigmented as you can see from the picture below.

Swatch of shades, in order RIO-D, TOK-IO, MA-LI-BOO and NY-CEE.

The Velourlips do have a matte finish, they do have a creamy formula, they definitely glide on easily, they do have full coverage payoff and they do move with your lips.

However as you can see I did not agree with everything, for me personally I would not say these are a long-wear formula or that they do not cake or flake off. I've had a different experience with these sadly, I have tried a few methods to get these to work for me, I have tried leaving papaw ointment on while I do my make up and then wiping of the papaw ointment and applying the matte lip cream then 3-5 minutes later its starts to crack and well flake off.

I have tried to put on as less as possible one coat, still same result it wears off within 5 minutes. I am still looking for a way I can make this product work, because although it hasn't worked amazingly for me I still love the product.

I like the pay off of the colors, and not just one ALL four colors I own have amazing pigmentation. The smell oh wow that smell! It reminds me of a child hood candy, If any of you get the chance please smell the candy Nerds the packet of purple and pink candy. That is what the smell reminds me of every time I put it on.

I am still willing to give this product a chance, don't get me wrong I still put them on my lips so I'm not neglecting them at all even if I have to wipe it of 5 minutes later. Any suggestions on how I can make this be my holy grail and get it to work for me please leave a comment below I would really like to be able to rock these colors.

Pros  pigmentation, glides on the lips easily, moves with your lips, full coverage, matte finish.

Cons price, flakes off my lips within 5 minutes, not long lasting.

BeautyCareCo ™ ♡ Paw Paw Ointment Review

Hi everyone, today I will be reviewing the BeautyCareCo ™  Paw Paw Ointment. For those of you who may not be aware of this brand it is a trade mark of Kmart Australia.

I picked this Paw Paw Ointment up from Kmart for $3.50-$4 as one of my favourite products  Lucas Papaw Ointment is running low so I though why not try something different and see if it can measure up?

First thing that grabbed my attention was the bright pink packaging and ingredients placed on the front.

Front of product.

This product has Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil & Shea Butter as it's main key ingredients. This product is thick in texture, it does not melt down as soon as it hits the skin like the Lucas Papaw ointment, the BeautyCareCo Paw Paw Ointment has a light sent to it, in my opinion it reminds me of a slight vanilla smell.

Back of product.

I use this product for my lips and dry areas, I have not used it for any minor skin problem areas as I do with the Luca Papaw Ointment. I find that if you are applying this product on dry areas like I do myself, you have to rub the product between your fingers so that you warm it up and it is easier applied to your skin that way as it is thick. If your are applying this straight to your lips that is fine forget about rubbing it between your fingers.

Swatch on my hand in natural lighting.

This product is very moisturising, and long lasting which I do love. I would say you definitely do not need to continue re-applying this through out the day It holds well on its own.

BeautyCareCo ™ Paw Paw Ointment is a good back up for the Lucas Papaw Ointment if you are looking for something that is hydrating to your lips and skin. This product has no claim from what I can see that it is used for minor skin problems I have yet to try it on any.

I will repurchase this product in the future as an affordable alternative, but I do not think it will replace my Lucas Papaw Ointment. As I have yet to see if it can be used multipurpose.

Pros  affordable, moisturising, beneficial to dry skin and lips, long lasting, nice scent.

Cons no cons, I am happy overall with the product.

Lucas Papaw Ointment ♡ Review

Hey everyone! Today I thought I would do my first blog post / review on the famous Australian product Lucas Papaw Ointment. Also don't miss out on my next blog post of a comparison of the Lucas Papaw Ointment to a more affordable brand. But is it just as good?

Front of product.

So what is Lucas Papaw ointment? Lucas Papaw ointment is a local topical application that you can use for just about any minor problematic skin condition such as:

  • Minor Burns & Scalds
  • Sunburn
  • Gravel Rash, Cuts & Minor Open Wounds
  • Nappy Rash & Chafing
  • Insect Bites
  • Splinters & Thorns
(information taken from http://www.lucaspapaw.com.au/)

Back of product.

Lucas Papaw Ointment has also had feed back on temporarily relief of dermatitis and eczema, which is also another reason I picked this up for myself as it did wonders for my eczema at the time.

This product when dispensed is thick in texture. Once the product touches the skin it starts to melt into the skin almost immediately. This product goes a long way, you only need a little on minor problematic areas. One thing I love about Lucas Papaw Ointment is how long lasting it is. I apply this every night after my night time routine right before I go to sleep, and believe it or not I wake up the next morning and can still feel it on my lips. Its amazing, I don't find myself needing to continually re-apply it during the day which is one thing I do not like about lip balms, they wear away quickly and you have to continue to re-apply it during the whole day. But not with this product, no it stays put! Not to mention how amazing your skin feels after as it is very moisturizing.

Swatch on my hand in natural lighting.

Lucas Papaw Ointment cost me $6.50 - $7.00 from Coles. It does seem like your paying a lot for this product but in all honestly it will last you a long time and it does go such a long way. And for what this product has to offer you can't go wrong.

So to wrap this review up I will definitely be repurchasing Lucas Papaw Ointment in the future.

Pros Its moisturizing, long lasting, a little goes a long way, its multipurpose and it benefits my minor skin problems.

Cons Price.
